What it looks like

You · Mon 9:05am

marcus missed another deadline this morning and cc'd my director saying the data was late from my side. it wasn't.

Reply · Mon 11:20am

this is the one to handle carefully. reply on facts only, short, and keep her on it since he added her: 'the data was in the shared folder friday at 4:12pm. the report was due monday 9am. let's talk today at 2 about what got in the way.' then log it. never argue tone over email.

An example. The names and details are made up.

How it works

  1. 1

    Tell me what's going on

Who's involved, what's happened so far, what's coming up. A few lines is enough to start.

  2. 2

Get a first read within a day

What's really going on, the one move to make before the next hard conversation, and the words to open it with.

  3. 3

Keep going for as long as it runs

Message whenever it moves. The whole history stays with your case, so every reply builds on what already happened, and you end up with a dated record of what was said and when.

Who it's for

A good fit

  • A people problem at work that keeps coming back
  • Your boss or HR isn't backing you, or wants it "documented"
  • Your own standing feels at risk
  • You want someone outside the company on your side

Not a fit

  • Legal disputes or anything that needs a lawyer
  • Company training programs or buying seats for a team
  • Therapy or mental health support

Who's behind it

I'm Sameed. I answer managers on r/managers, where my posts have been read more than a million times. Manager Coach is that, kept going privately for your situation: someone outside your company who reads the whole thing and is on your side.

How replies work: a tool I built drafts the first pass. I read every message and rewrite every reply myself before it goes to you.

Privacy: I don't need your company's name or your real names. Nothing goes to your employer. More on privacy.

Questions

Is this legal or HR advice?

No. It's practical help with what to do and say at work. If something needs a lawyer or a formal HR process, I'll tell you plainly.

Why in writing, not calls?

You can send a message in a minute between meetings, read the reply when it suits you, and you keep a record of what happened and what you said.

What if it's urgent?

Say so, and tell me when the conversation is. Replies come within a day, and I'll do my best to get you one before it.

How do I cancel?

Any time: email me and it's done. If you cancel in the first 7 days you're never charged.
